Now that I've discovered soap calc, I'm gonna make up my own recipes. Recently I have made 3 batches of soap, recipe out of a well known soap book. They are all crap IMO, not creamy or moisturising enough, especially when I run them through SC. I will be giving away all of them, I'm almost embarrassed by how crap they turned out.

    Next time, I'm trying this:

    30% Coconut
    20% Palm
    20% Castor
    20% Rice Bran
    10% Macadamia

Heavenly, I would check out this site if you're making your own recipes.

I know these are all single oil soaps, but they give you an idea of how an oil reacts in soap. I made 3 recipes with different large amounts of sunflower, ricebran, and grapeseed included with olive and coconut oils. The soaps were great to start with, but after a few months they developed DOS, and had an unpleasant smell. Now I don't include more than 10% of any of those oils in my soaps. Just a suggestion.
