    Shop Progress

Post by soapgirl on Thu Oct 07, 2010 12:12 am

If anyone follows me on Facebook you would have seen that I am opening my first retail shop later this month. I am sooooo excited, its a dream come true!

Its located in Cleveland (Brisbane) and we are taking it on for just 6 months to start with. I hope to move into something bigger in the future with room and facilities to actually manufacture the soap onsite as well as being able to offer soap making lessons!

So I thought I will take pics of the progress of settings it up. Here is the first photo - outside looking in. The side walls will be white and the main back wall will be painted green to coordinate with my website.

So will you be able to do any production at all there? I actually thought it was bigger than it is, then I realised what I thought I could see was actually reflection in the glass, not extra walls/room inside. whoops! having said that, starting smaller and short term is a sensible move. Looking forward to sharing the journey with you!

No production unfortunately but yes, starting off small and it is only for 6 months. Its a great starting off point - something I didn't think was going to happen for a few more years once all the kids are in school. I am lucky this opportunity arose, it's gonna be a great ride Very Happy

I'm sure you're absolutely flat out at the moment, but I'd love to hear how you're going getting everything organised!

I hope it all goes smoothly for you! I guess the advantage of a small shop is there's not too much wall to paint Very Happy

Hey, I saw the photos on facebook of your opening. The shop looks fantastic! I really love the way you've made the displays all a little bit different but still in theme with each other. I think displaying soap and trying to fill a whole shop like that would be really hard!
